Chapter 1: Jack in the Haunted Castle

Enter the arched opening in front of you. At the wall turn left and at the end turn north. Turn to the right at the next path and go through the doorway. There’s a decoration at the top of the wall. Take a good look at them. Go throught the door in the middle of the room. You’re in a room with a brown wooden wall. On the right is a door again. Open it and enter. You’re in the library.

On the shelf on the left you can read a book about the plants and animals in the kingdom. Learn the dangerous species. Avoid them on your quest. On the shelf in the back you can find a book on the left that tell you the parts of the kingdom including a map. In a book on the right you can read about the history of the kingdom. On the right shelves you can find a book with curiosity. Turn to page one (apparitions) and learn about ghost. Keep on this page until you’re not scared of ghosts anymore. You can now wander around without loosing health beans. Next to the book is a decorated panel. Take the PANEL (#1). On the table in the center is a decorated panel. Take the PANEL (#2).

Leave the library on the south side and follow the hallway to the south until you’re in the room with the panels again. On the right is a burnt spot. On the debris is a decorated panel. Take the PANEL (#3). Walk to the left and look at the desk. Open the door of the desk and take a PANEL (#4) out. Leave the room on the south side. Follow the hallway to the north. Go through the opening on the right. Keep walking straight ahead and climb the stairs. Then through the opening on the left. In the room with the stained glass is a decorated panel on the right wall. Take the PANEL (#5). Leave the way you came, down the stairs. At the bottom of the stairs, at the T-section, turn left and follow the hallway to the south. You’re in some kind of storage room. On the right crate at the bottom is a decorated panel. Take the PANEL (#6). There are bags on the floor on the left. Take the top bag of and there’s another panel under it. Take this PANEL (#7).

Leave the room again and go to the south on the right side of the screen. Follow the hallway, and keep walking all the way south until you can’t go further. Go through the opening on the left side. On the left of the screen near the entrance is another panel. Take the PANEL (#8). On the right side, in the back is a lamp. Take the LAMP. Leave the room again and go through the opening on the right. Turn right again and across the statue turn south. You’ll be at the spot you started.

Keep walking south and go through the half-arched opening on the right. Keep following the hallway until you’re in a room with barrels. In the wall is another panel. Take the PANEL (#9). Walk back again to the entrance square. Walk to the other side and enter the half-arched opening on the left. Follow this hallway as well until you’re in a room with a table. On the table is a panel. Take the PANEL (#10). Go back the way you came until you’re with the two knights again.

Enter the castle again through the main entrance and at the wall turn left again. Then turn right at the first posibility and you’re in the room with the decoration on top. Walk to the right of this room and exit at the south. Keep following this hallway until you’re at a door with squares around it. The panels you’ve collected should be placed around this door. They are in the order of the astrological signs: taurus, gemini, cancer, leo, virgo, libra, scorpio, sagittarius, capricorn, aquarius. They should be placed from lower left to lower right. The door will open.

Chapter 2: Jack in the Dungeon of Despair

Use the lantern from your bundle to make a bit of light. It’s not much but at least you can see where you’re going. Walk across the board on the right and go south. Follow the path around the moat and exit the first possibility on the left. Go down the stairs and open the door on the left. Enter the guard room. There’s a map on the wall. Study it. A bit to the right of it is a key. Take the KEY. Leave the guard room again and walk south. You’ll walk past a mechanism that doesn’t work so follow the path to the south.

You’re now at the center of the passages. Go to the right to the other mechanism and use this one twice. Leave through the door on the right. Follow the path and ignore the two doors. At the T-section, turn right past the debris. At the next T-section turn right again. A screen further, another T-section, turn south. Follow the path again and ignore the door. Follow the path to the left and go through the arched opening on the right of the screen. Take the next arched opening you see to the north and follow the path again. You’re back at the center again. But because you’ve turned the mechanism twice, you’re now able to walk to the left.

Go through the opening on the left of the mechanism and keep on the path, ignoring the first opening. At the T-section turn left (there’s a door on the right). Go down the stairs and go through the opening on the left side. At the T-section, take the right path, and the same at the next T-section. Go through the opening on the right and up the stairs. There’s a door on the left that’s locked. Use the key to open the door.

Chapter 3: Jack in the Enchanted Garden

[Save your game as soon as this level starts. It’s a timed chapter and you need to be very fast!]

Follow the path to the north through the opening in the wall. Keep following the path and keep to the right. You’re in a maze but can’t do anything else but following the path until you’re at a sundial. Enter the north right path of the sundial. Again you can only follow the path through the maze and when you exit the maze, keep walking to the right until you see a door in the wall. Opposite of the door, a bit to the right is a statue. Look at the statue. It holds a key. Take the KEY.

North from this statue is a tree that has purple fruit in it. You can eat it and it will increase your walking speed for some time. So take the path opposite the door and eat the fruit. Then use the key on the door and go through. Go south past the gazebo and keep walking all the way to the left until you’ll see a shed. Enter the shed and look at the shelves in the back. On one of them is a handle. Take the HANDLE. Leave the shed and go back the way you came, to the right and north at the gazebo. Through the door and turn right here. Follow the path and it will turn north. Keep walking north until you’re at the spider web. When you were quick enough you can crawl under it. If not, try again.

Chapter 4: Jack in the Savage Mountains

Turn right and keep walking to the right. At the end of the path go down the stairs and turn right again. Keep walking until you see five streams. Use the handle on the wooden gate on the left of the first stream. The water stops flowing in the first stream, only in the fifth is water. Use the handle on the third wooden gate (step over two stones). The third stream will start. Use the handle on the second gate and the second stream will start, the fifth will stop. Use the handle on the first gate again. The door will lower but there will be no water. Use the handle on the second gate again and the second stream will stop, the first will start. Use the handle on the third gate and the first and fifth stream will start running. Use the handle on the fourth gate and the fifth stream will stop. The fourth will start but you can cross the fifth stream and keep walking to the right.

At the and of the path turn south opposite of the stairs. Follow the path, climb the stairs and walk to the north from here. Now comes a tricky part. As soon as you want to pass the rocks, the earth will start rumbling and the stones will come tumbling down. Don’t hesitate but keep walking! You have time to miss the rocks. Keep walking north and enter the cave on the right.

Chapter 5: Jack in the Desert of Death

From the exit of the cave walk to the right. Keep walking in a straight line until you get to a statue and a tombstone. Around it is a pile of junk. In that pile of junk is a STONE you can take. From this statue walk north in a straight line.
You’ll come to an entrance of a tombe. Enter it.

Through the door on the north you’ll see painting with some hiroglyphs with circles around it. You’ll need one of those names later on. Walk south again and walk to the left. Keep following the path to a large room. Four more paintings with names here. Against the wall on the left is a skeleton with a BOOK. When you read the book you can translate symbols to names but actually it’s not really necessary. Leave the room again through the opening on the north. Keep following the path and walking right until you can exit to the south. Walk to the left, keeping close to the mountain wall until you see another entrance. Go in and find another painting. Exit again and walk again to the left, keeping close to the mountains again.

You’ll find another entrance. Inside another painting on the right and when you go through the opening on the north go throught the opening on the right side. You’ll find another painting (this is the one you should see!). Leave the room and walk all the way to the left and then to the south. You’re outside again. Keep walking south until you’re at the starting point again.

Walk to the right until you’re at the statue again. From here walk south until you can’t go further. You should see the remains of a sphinx here. Walk to the left from here until you see the entrance of a tombe again. Enter the tomb and look at the sphinx. In the sphinx is a stone plate where you can enter a name. It’s one of the names found on the paintings. There weren’t that many with six letters. The answer is Hathor, translated to rectangle, boot, semi circle, rectangle, bird and eye.
When done, push the beetle and the stone plate will rise. Take the MIRROR. Leave the tomb. Walk to the right until you can’t go further and from there walk north. You should see a entrance on your right. Enter.

Chapter 6: Jack in the Caves of Confusion.

Walk to the right. Ignore the first entrance to the north but use the second one. Go through the stone gate on the left and follow the path to the left. You may find a door with Danger on it. If so, just wait until you hear a bell, if not, go through the opening. Follow the path and turn right in the next room. Exit the room on the south, right to the opening you came through. Keep walking to the right where you can see scaffolding. Walk underneath and to the north there might be a door with Keep Out on it. Wait again until you hear a bell and the door opens.
Left of the pile of junk is an OIL CAN. Climb the ladder to the clock and look at the mechanism to the right of it. Turn the hand of the clock to twelve and pull the handle on the right. The clock will strike twelve now and when it’s at the twelve you can see a key. Grab the KEY. If you’re not quick enough, try again.

Walk all the way to the left and then to the north, up the stairs. Use the key to open the door.
Once outside look at the water flow meter. It’s the flow of the clock. Walk to the south and follow the path to the five streams. The gate of stream number five didn’t work because it was rusted. Use the oil can on the gate and then use the handle on the gate to raise the door. Use the handle on number four as well to raise that gate also and to stop the waterflow to the clock. Walk back south again and look at the water flow meter. The flow stopped. Enter through the door again.
Walk south and to the right to the pendulum of the clock. Since it stopped you can pass it safely. Walk to the north and follow the path up the stairs to the door. Open the door and exit.

Chapter 7: Jack in the Abandoned City

Go up the stairs on the right and down the stairs again to the right of these. Follow the path through the arched opening and walk to the right in front of the white building in the middle of the square. Go north on the right side of the building and keep walking until you get to the stairs. Turn right in front of them and at the end of the alley go south. Then walk to the left and against the wall you can find the INVISIBLE CLOAK. Make sure you use it before any of the kids took some of your belongings.

Walk to the right, north and left again and go up the stairs to the north. Keep to the left and at the top of the stairs walk to the left, around the yellow building and down the stairs again on the left side of the building. Walk around the building again and exit the screen on the north, left of the building. In front of you is Dragon King’s Hall. Enter the building on the left side of the screen.

Chapter 8: Jack in the Dragon King’s Hall

Stay invisible. You don’t want the dragon to see you. Turn to the right after you’ve entered the building. Follow the hallway and at the end be carefull not to fall into the hole. Open the door on the left. Walk at the right side of the room (select the clock) and keep to the wall when walking to the door on the left (click on the door). Walk over the carpet to the next room.

Meet the king. Not the friendly type. Be carefull to stay on the carpet otherwise he’ll hear you. Walk over the carpet to the right and go through the door. Walk to the north and open the door on the right in the middle of the wall. Open the next door on the north side. You’re in the kitchen. At the rack right of the stove is a KEY. Take it and leave the kitchen. Go two screens south and then keep to the left when exiting the room at the south side.

From here you need to be very carefull! There’s no carpet so the King might hear you. Take one step at a time, making sure you wait a bit between each step. When you’re on the carpet again, follow it to the left side and enter the room on that side. Walk to the north side and enter the door on the right side, in the middle of the wall. Then walk around, leaving the room at the south side again but on the right. The door you will find next will be locked. Drop the cloak for a second (the king isn’t here) and use the key to open the door.

You’ll find a lady that has been held prisoner for quite some time. She’s dead now but left a letter on the desk. Take the letter and read it. She was queen of the night, mistress of the moon and knows how to get rid of the monster. You need to reflect the monster with a talisman and need to go to a certain spot in the hall. The spot is marked with the symbol of the cult.

Leave the room and go through the door on the left. Keep walking to the left and exit the room on the south side. Leave the next room on the right south side and the next room also on the right south. You’re back with the King again. Make sure you’re still invisible! Now find the symbol of the cult of the priestress. It’s the green tile with the moon on it, above the worn part of the carpet. Go to that spot but one step at a time again. After each step, wait till the King continues his walking. Once you’re at the right location, wait for the King to pass and change the cloak for the mirror. The King will shoot some flames and eventually break the mirror and disappear.

Put the mirror back in the bundle. You can now walk freely. Go through the door in the middle.

Chapter 9: Jack in The Triple Maze.

Walk up the stairs. Look at the doors. Use the door with the orange sun above it. Take the hallway on your left. Open the green door and enter. Take the hallway on the left again. Take the corridor to the north. Open the door in front of you. This will take you to the next level.

Walk up the stairs. Look at the doors. Use the door with the orange sun above it. Take the hallway on your left. Open the green door and enter. Take the hallway on the left again. Take the corridor to the north. Open the door in front of you. This will take you to the next level.

Walk up the stairs. Look at the doors. Use the door with the orange sun above it. Take the hallway on your left. Open the green door and enter. Take the hallway on the left again. Take the corridor to the north. Open the door in front of you. This will take you to another door.

You must press the buttons in the correct sequence to open the door. The buttons represent the parts of the kingdom (read the book in the library) and the sequence is the order in which you visited them. Number them 1 to 5 starting at the top going clockwise. The sequence is 5, 3, 4, 2 and 1.

You must now wake the princess. Try to shake her a bit. That doesn’t help. Since this is a fairytale try to kiss her…

    I can not get thru the triple maze. I followed your instructions over and over and still can’t get thru. What am I doing wrong? Help!!

    Help: I cannot get past the spider web.I have read the comments and they say to upgrade your pcs. what is that and how do you do it? I tried to upgrade the game it does not work. Pkease Help.

    A few tips:

    First of all make sure you have the latest version. In the updated version you get a bit more time.
    Then:
    – Learn the shortest way to the web.
    – Make sure you start right away after entering this level. If you have a savegame in this level, forget it, start again from the previous one.
    – The quickest way is: from level start to the statue, take key, open door, eat fruit, go through door and to shed via left of gazebo, take handle, back the way you came to door, straight to web.

    Leon, thank you for your tips and for the walkthrough above!
    I’ve got V2 from Elen Heart’s homepage (I think this is the latest version?) and will let you know about my further success (hopefully).
    There are two further questions I have:
    1. In the shed where you get the handle on the left side there is a mechanism on the right side to stop the fountain in the garden with this handle. Is it necessary to do so?
    2. I already have 2 black beans at the beginning of chapter 3. Does it make sense to go on with the game or should I start at the very beginning?

    @Sissy:

    1:No, it only take time which you don’t have. It’s nice to play with it but totally irrelevant.

    2:A far as I can remember, you won’t lose much beans further on. Only chapter 5 can be tricky but as long as you save at the beginning of each chapter, you should be fine.

    I need some help in chapter 8.
    I can’t get the mirror to break, i am on the green tile with the moon on it, i have change the cloak for the mirror. The King’s shoot hit the mirror.

    I’m in the caves of confusion. I am following the walkthrough above (going through the door with danger, then up and down through the south path on the right to the keep out door). However, when the bell rings the door on the right opens and not the keep out door. Thanks.

    It should have been that simply seeing the page about ghosts made one immune to them, I’m a speed reader and it would never have occurred to me to wait twenty seconds or so.

    Help. I cannot get thru the trple maze, not even using any of the doors. I tried the door with the orange sun first many times the the other doors. cannot get thru the maze. What am I doing wrong?? The walk thru is confusing also in that identical instructions are listed three times.

    I have V2 version & I have been at the spider web for 2 days now, today I think I have tried 10 X’s, is there a hidden trick that I am not seeing ? please help

    Re chapter 9: The door to select is randomly generated – in my game it was blue. The colour of the door will not change if you restart the level, so if you pick the wrong one, reload the chapter and try a different one. The clue was in the letter left by the dead priestess – “It’s pure luck” whether you make the right choice. Great game Elen!

    CHAPTER 9: there is no blue door just after the first stairs. 3 doors available. Middle one has symbol upon it (like a sun). Left one browish and no symbol. Right one is White door and no symbol upon it too.
    What is “its pure luck means” for the clue. What are right choices

    Cant complete the game. Please help
