After dinner you’re in your room.
Look at the photo of your granddad in the cabinet on the left and look at the wound in his neck (1/1). Leave the picture and pick up the boot from the floor to remember some good old moments (1/2). Then the phone rings so answer the phone. It’s Renzi with the request to come to Rome. Use the phone again and call Simon to ask him for advice (1/3). Use the phone again and this time call Alice (1/4). After the conversation you’ll fly to Rome and meet Simon in the hotel.
Day 1:
Ask Simon about his laptop and then ask about the research. Ask him to do a search on Renzi but there’s no result at the moment. Use the door to leave the room and on the map select the police station. Talk to the officer behind the desk and ask him to see Renzi (1/5). Use the cup on the desk to borrow a PENCIL (1/6). Then use the doors on the right to enter the cellblock.
Walk to the right and talk to Renzi in cell number 3. Ask him all about the murder and the about the priest (1/7). Ask him about the demon to learn more about the strange language and his behavior (1/8). Ask him about himself and about the acting (1/9). Ask him why he called and what he knows the voice who called him (1/10). Ask him about the crime scene and he’ll point the location out on the map (1/11).
Leave the cell block on the left and ask the officer behind the desk about the demons. Leave the station on the left and on the map return to L’Albergo Dante. Talk to Simon and ask to research Thomas Ryan. Simon will give you the location of the church (1/12). Ask him to search the address of the Teatro and he’ll search it for you (1/13). Ask him to find the address of the crime scene and he’ll search that one too (1/14). Ask him about demons but there’s not much he can tell you.
Use the door to leave the hotel and on the map select the crime scene. Look at the scene and notice a piece of paper next to the door. Pick up the PAPER to see it’s a business card (1/15). Look at the card in your inventory to learn the name of detective Silvio. Walk north to leave the alley and on the map travel to the San Silvestro.
Ask the priest about the murder to find out that there was no priest with the name of Ryan (1/16). Ask about the church and relics and discover more strange behavior of the priest (1/17). Ask him about demons (1/18) and about himself. Then walk south to leave the church. On the map select Teatro Manzoni.
Talk to the usher and ask about the theater and the shows playing. Then ask her about Renzi. Tell her about the murder and ask her about the door and to get access to the dressing rooms. Since you’re not exactly the police, she won’t let you (1/19). Use the double doors to leave the theater and on the map return to L’Abergo Dante.
Give the business card to Simon and he’ll turn it into your business card (3/22). Leave the hotel, go back to the theater and give the business card to the usher and you’ll get access to the dressing room (3/25). Use the door on the right and have a look around the room.
On the dressing stand is a tape recorder. Pick up the RECORDER (1/26) and use it in your inventory to see that there’s an empty tape in it. Use the door on the left to leave and bump into professor Jones. He’ll give you his address to visit him tomorrow (1/27). Use the double doors to leave and select L’Albergo Dante to get some rest. Alice will join you and then you’ll get some sleep.
Day 2:
Talk to Alice and ask about the family history. Ask her about Marcus Wilkins and learn about Smailholm (1/28). After the conversation use the door to leave and on the map select the police station. Use the doors on the right to enter the cell block and walk to the cell on the right. Renzi hung himself. In front of the cell is a piece of PAPER on the floor. Pick it up (1/29) and look at the paper in your inventory. It’s a suicide note. Use the paper to turn it over and see a faint picture (1/30). Use the pencil on the paper to reveal a strange symbol (1/31).
Leave the cell block on the left and talk to the officer behind the desk to tell him about Renzi. Ask him about the other visitors and learn about the Vatican (1/32). Leave the police station and on the map select Percy’s hotel. Ask him about the murder but he can’t help you at the moment (1/33). Ask him about his holidays and about Oxford and then question him about Sanborn (1/34). Ask him finally about demons and whether Renzi could have done it (1/35).
Give him the paper with the symbol you revealed and he’ll tell you about the knights (3/38).Talk some more to the professor and ask him more about the knights and he’ll tell you all he knows (1/39). Say goodbye, leave the hotel and travel to L’Albergo Dante. In the hotel room talk to Simon and ask him to research the murder of father Ryan (1/40). Then ask him to research the knights but there’s nothing to find.
Leave the hotel room and select the San Silvestro again on the map. Talk to father MacNamara and ask him about the Vatican. This will make him talk (1/41). Ask him about the Vatican official that he met and he’ll give you his name (1/42). Ask the father about the knights and he’ll tell you about the Anthony’s. Ask more about Anthony the Great and learn about the demons (1/43). Ask about the other Anthony as well (1/44). Show the paper with the symbol to the father but he doesn’t recognize it.
Leave the church on the south and travel back to the hotel. Talk to Simon and ask him to research Bianchi. He can’t find much, only where he works (1/45). Leave the hotel room and go to the Basilica di San Pietro. Talk to the Swiss Guard outside and ask him about Bianchi. He don’t know employees but gives you a name of someone who does. Ask where to find Cardinal Genovese (1/46). Ask the guard about himself and learn about his hate for street performers (1/47). Ask him about the knights but he hasn’t heard of them.
Enter the building and walk to the right until you find the Cardinal. Ask him about Bianchi and ask him about his office (1/48). Ask about the Basilica and learn about the tombs and the popes (1/49). Ask about the knights but he doesn’t know them either. Show him the symbol but he doesn’t recognize it. Look at the door of the office and realize you can’t get in there if the Cardinal is standing there.
Walk further to the right and use the door on the right of the confessional. Put the tape recorder on the shelf (1/50) and walk to the right to exit the booth. Walk to the left to return to the Cardinal and talk to him. Ask him about the confession and he’ll take you to the confessional (1/51). Once inside use the tape recorder and start recording. Use the bench to sit down and talk to the window on the left. Select any sin and after the confession, you have it on tape (2/53)..
Talk to the Cardinal again and again tell him you want to confess. Inside the confessional use the tape recorder again and this time select to play the tape. This will keep the Cardinal busy for some time. Quickly walk to the right to leave the confessional, to the left to find the office door and use the door to go inside.
Look at the name plates next to the doors to find the office of Bianchi. Use the door on the left to enter his office. Look around the office and use the small paper on the desk to learn Bianchi’s home address (1/54). Use the notebook on the desk to find a symbol on one of the pages and use the paper with symbol from your inventory on the notebook to compare them. It’s an exact match! (2/56). Walk to the right to leave the room and use the door north to leave the corridor. Walk left to exit the church and south to return to the map. Go back to your hotel.
Talk to Simon and ask him to research Via Casimiro Gennari (1/57). Talk to Alice and ask her to come with you to the newly found location (1/58). Use the door to leave the room and on the map select Bianchi’s apartment. Talk to the man smoking outside and he appears to be the neighbor. Ask him about Bianchi but there’s not much to tell. Ask him about himself and why he is upset. You’ll then learn about the blocked toilets. Ask if a plumber has been called and you’ll find out that that can take a while (1/59).
Look at and use the call box to try to enter Bianchi’s apartment. No matter what you tell him, he won’t let you in. Talk to Alice about him and then about your relationship. Walk to the left and north and on the map select the theater. Use the door on the right to enter the dressing room and use the costumes to find a PLUMBERS OUTFIT (1/60). In your inventory use the outfit to find a white GLOVE in one of the pockets (1/61).
Use the door left to leave and leave the theater through the double doors north. On the map select your hotel and once inside talk to Alice again to ask her to come along again to Bianchi’s apartment. Use the call box next to the door and tell Bianchi that you’re the plumber. You can go right in (1/62).
Use the plumbers outfit on yourself to change costumes and talk to Alice about the plan you have (1/63). Knock on the door on the right to enter the apartment and when he’s called to the front door take the KEYS from the wall on the right (1/64). Walk to the left into the bedroom and look at all the objects. Walk north to go back to Bianchi and walk to the right to leave the apartment. You’ll go back to the hotel and make a plan.
When Simon asks you if you have a good reason, tell him Bianchi is member of the religious sect. You’ll proof this by the symbols you found and compared earlier. Simon will think of a plan and go back to Bianchi’s apartment. Simon will make Bianchi leave and the apartment is all yours (2/66). Use the keys to unlock the door (1/67) and enter the apartments. Use the keys again on the door on the right (2/69) and enter Bianchi’s residence.
Walk to the left into the bedroom and use the strange object on the dresser. There are 10 buttons and a handle on the box but which ones to use? Saint Anthony was patron of the lost. So push the buttons which have something to do with ‘lost’. Starting at the top and counting clockwise, push button 3 (Fountain of Youth), button 4 (Atlantic Ocean), button 7 (the one with the galleon) and button 10 (Ark of the Covenant) (4/73).
Pull the handle on the box and it’ll open. Take the CROSS from the box (1/74) and then Bianchi will enter the apartment. Take the plumbers outfit from your inventory and use it on yourself to change clothes (2/76). Then walk north to leave the apartment.
At the Basilica, talk to the Swiss Guard. He’s not letting you in. Talk to Alice and a plan must be made. For distraction, tell them to perform some arts and the guard will be busy. Ben can sneak into the Basilica (3/79). Walk to the right and use the door behind the rope to enter the office block. Use the door on the left to enter Bianchi’s office again. On the desk is a small box. Look at it and recognize the shape at the top. Take the cross from your inventory and use it on the box (1/80). Pull the cross to reveal a secret room (3/83).
Look at the display case and read all the signs beneath the objects to realize you’ve been to those places (5/88). Then Bianchi enters the room again. When he asks what you are doing there, defend your actions. Bianchi will tell you about the great task and your part in it. He’ll take you to the grotto.
Talk to Bianchi and ask him about the amulet (1/89). Ask him about the knights and he’ll tell you about it (1/90). Ask more about the grotto but Bianchi doesn’t want you to waste time. Walk north into the mausoleum and look around. Use the red cloth under the statue to peek underneath and find the Latin text (1/91). Walk south and return to Bianchi. Talk to him and ask about the inscription. Then ask him for help to translate it (1/92). Use the white glove from your inventory and use it to take the AMULET (5/97).
Look around in the wine cellar and find the loose ring around the barrel. Use the ring to cut your ropes (3/100). Use the spigot on the wine cask to create a pool of wine on the floor. Keep doing that until an indentation on the floor becomes clear (2/102). Use the loose ring from the barrel to take a piece of the METAL (1/103). Use the metal on the indentation on the floor to pry the compartment open (2/105). Use the open compartment to find a leather bound book (1/106). You start to read and discover some interesting facts….
