The Great Stroke Off – Walkthrough (Barbarian/2005)

The Great Stroke Off Walkthrough Warning! This page contains the complete solution or walk-through to this game. Reading this page can spoil the challenge to complete the game by yourself. Please consider this when reading on. The walk-through of this game given here might not be the optimal solution, it’s a solution. Just to prove that the game can be finished. You need to help out your uncle.

Use the door of the Stickz & Ballz office on the left and walk to the left to talk to your uncle. He’ll tell you to collect all four balls that got lost. Talk to him again and ask him to show his stick polishing technique. He’ll walk over to his stick and while he’s at it, take one of the HOT DOGS out of the cabinet. When he’s back, talk to him again and ask him to tell rule 6 of the rules poster behind him. While he’s reading the rules, take the KEY from the wall next to the ball washer.

Use the door to leave again and walk to the right to find the toilet and the tool shed. Use the key on the shed to unlock it and enter the shed. In the toolkit on the shelf on the left you can take the SCREWDRIVER. Also take the FISHING NET from the back wall. Take the CHAINSAW from the shelf on the right. Leave the shed again and use the toilet to enter. Look at the toilet to find a ball there.

Use the fishing net on the toilet to get the YELLOW BALL out. Use the door to leave again and walk further to the left, back to the crossing.Follow the path to the mini-golf course. Look at the trash can next to the clown and see another ball. Use the trashcan to get the BLUE BALL out. Walk back to the left and follow the path to the arcades.

Use the door to enter the hall and next to the door is a small hole. Eat the hot dog to find it disgusting and use the other half on the mouse hole. Walk to the right to find more arcade machines. But you need quarters for that. Walk back to the left and see that the mouse left you a QUARTER. Pick it up and use it on the point ‘n shoot machine. After the quarter is jammed, take the WHITE BALL out of the return tray. Leave the hall on the left and walk south to the crossing. Follow the path to the haunted house on the left.

Use the door to enter the haunted house and look at the first mirror next to the door.  Use the screwdriver to take the screws out and take the MIRROR from it’s place. Use the ladder behind it to go to the attic and find the machine. Look at the ghost lifter machine and see a ball stuck in there. Use the lever to turn the machine off and use the screwdriver on the gears to get the RED BALL out. Use the lever to turn on the machine again.

Use the ladder to climb down and in the hall walk to the left. At some point the ghost will drop from the ceiling. Use the ghost to take his MASK off. Walk further to the left to leave the haunted house and outside go to the right twice to return to the crossing.

Use the door of the Stickz & Ballz office on the left and put all four balls in the ball washer. Use the ball washer machine to clean them all and you’ll tell your uncle that the first part of the mission is done.  You can now take your break. Use the door on the right to leave the office and follow the path to the mini-golf course. There you’ll find two groups arguing. You have to decide which side you’ll be on.

When you choose the Nerds:

The punks will leave and Dexter will calculate his first shot. But the batteries are dead so you need to get some new ones. Walk to the left to return to the crossing and left again to go to the tool shed next to the toilets. Use the chainsaw on the tree to cut it down and use the chainsaw on the fallen tree again to get the STUMP. Enter the tool shed on the right and take the BATTERY from the top shelf. Walk south to leave the shed and left to return to the crossing. Follow the path to the mini-golf course and give the battery to Dexter.

Walk to the right to follow the nerds to the next hole. There Dexter tells you about the new problem he has: his ruler is broken so he can’t measure the distance. He’ll give you the BROKEN RULER. Walk to the left twice and on the crossing follow the path to the arcade. Use the door to enter the arcade and find another QUARTER the mouse left you. Pick it up and walk to the right.

Use the quarter on the only free machine there and play Drunken Violent Bums. It shouldn’t be a problem to win the fight. Leave the game and check all the coin return trays of the other machines until you find a DIME. Take it and use it on the Bubble Joy Fun Machine to get your BUBBLE GUM. Take it from the machine and eat it. Eat the piece of bubble gum and use the chewed piece of gum on the broken ruler to repair it.

Walk to the left and leave the arcade hall. Walk south to the crossing and follow the path to the mini-golf course. Walk all the way to the right until you find the nerds again. They’ll let you know they don’t need the ruler anymore and now they want you to find their ball that went into the dark bushes. Walk to the dark bushes on the far right and look at them. It’s too dark to see.

Use the mirror from the haunted house on the bushes to realize the mirror is very dirty. Walk all the way to the left to the crossing and use the door of the Stickz & Ballz office on the left. Take a RAG from the ball cleaner and use it on the mirror to clean it. Leave the office and take the path back to the mini-golf course. Walk all the way to the right to the dark bushes and use the cleaned mirror on the bushes to find the GOLF BALL. Walk all the way back to the left to the crossing and follow the path to the arcades.

Use the door of the arcade hall to enter and walk to the right. Give the ball to Nora and they’ll go to the Stickz & Ballz office. Walk to the left and use the door to leave the arcade. Walk south to go to the crossing. Then enter the Stickz & Ballz office on the left.

When you choose the Punks:

They want you to slow down the nerds.  Walk to the left and on the crossing follow the path to the arcade. Use the door to enter the arcade and find another QUARTER the mouse left you. Pick it up and walk to the right.

Use the quarter on the only free machine there and play Drunken Violent Bums. It shouldn’t be a problem to win the fight. Leave the game and check all the coin return trays of the other machines until you find a DIME. Take it and use it on the Bubble Joy Fun Machine to get your BUBBLE GUM. Take it from the machine and eat it. Eat the piece of bubble gum, walk to the left and leave the arcade hall. Walk south to the crossing and follow the path to the mini-golf course. Walk  to the right until you find the punks again.

Use the chewed bubble gum on the opening below the clown to slow the nerds down. Follow the punks to the right and Ivan will ask you to lure the nerds into the haunted house. Talk to Ivan and Gunther again to get some ideas on how to scare the nerds. Walk to the left and talk to Dexter and Nora and tell them about the evil eye, the haunted house and the batteries. They will go there.

Walk to the left until you reach the crossing and follow the path to the haunted house. Enter the house through the front door and walk to the left until you hear Dexter and Nora talk. You’ll put on the mask and take the chainsaw. Use the saw on the ghost that dropped from the ceiling to scare them really good. Use the door on the right and walk to the right to the crossing. Follow the path to the mini-golf course and walk to the right until you find the punks again.

You need to find their ball that went into the dark bushes. Use the mirror on the bushes to find the GOLF BALL. Walk all the way back to the left to the crossing and follow the path to the arcades. Use the door of the arcade hall to enter and walk to the right. Give the ball to Grunge and they’ll go to the Stickz & Ballz office. Walk to the left and use the door to leave the arcade. Walk south to go to the crossing. Then enter the Stickz & Ballz office on the left.
