You need to stop the evil witch and rescue Middlemiss.
Walk to the right and take the APPLE from the table. There’s also a SANDWICH you can use. Go over to the door next to the painting of witches and use the wall candle to open the door. Go through the door to meet the witch again.
Walk to the right and look at the spindles to see the missing cords on the loom. Try to pull the handle to notice the loom won’t work without cords. Next to the magic loom you can find an OIL CAN. Pick it up and use it on the wall candle next to the door to lubricate it. Go through the door into the storage room. There’s an annoying magic pumpkin preventing you from doing anything but when you use the apple on the pumpkin it’s mouth is shut and can’t prevent you anymore. Take all the POTIONS from the shelf and you’ll also take the BROOM from the corner. Use your emerald charm with the plasma balls to charge them, just in case.
Leave the room and enter the dark passage on the left. In there you’ll find a dead creature and a fly hovering it. In your inventory you have an empty jar. Use it on the FLY to catch it (bit fiddley). Leave the dark passage again and walk south to return to the room with the painting. Use the fly with the assassin spider in the corner. The fly will kill the spider and use the now empty jar again with the ACID BLOOD of the spider.
Go up the stairs and use the wall candle next to your entrance. In the room you’ve now entered is a mirror and in the corner on the far left is a LADDER. Take the ladder and use the mirror to get some hints from the witch. Use the door to notice it’s not opening, then use the hole in the wall on the left to leave the room and slide downstairs.
Go up the stairs again and walk to the shelves on the right. On the top shelf there are spools of threads but a rat is preventing you from taking anything. Use the sandwich on the rathole on the right and the rat will leave you alone. Use the ladder on the GREEN CORD and you’ll get the YELLOW CORD as well. Use the ladder also on the RED CORD to get the BLUE CORD as well. Leave the room on the left and downstairs go through the door next to the painting to return to the loom.
Use the correct colour cord on the correct colour spindle to fill the loom and then use the handle on the right to weave a carpet. Take the MAGIC CARPET from the loom and walk through the door on the south to the room with the painting. On the right side of the room is now an open door. Go through to leave the castle.
Use the magic carpet to fly across the spikes. The trick is to do it the amount of time available. Fly diagonally straight away from the start and at the top, diagonally down again to save as much time as possible. Once at the other end, enter the building again.
Inside you’ll find a very wise (but very annoying) owl. No matter what you use as an excuse, you’re not allowed to visit the witch. In front of the building that you try to enter is a toad. Talk to the toad and discover it’s Middlemiss. He’ll tell you about the spell book that might help and the lilac potion that can shrink things.
With this information you’ll distract the owl, apply the potion and gain access to the next section of the castle. Charge your charm on the plasma balls and use the painting to get zapped. There must be a way to disable that. Use the spinning wheel to find a BENT NEEDLE in it. Use the broom from your inventory on the cobweb in the upper left corner to get a WEB THREAD from it. In your inventory add the web thread to the broom and add the hook to it to create a makeshift FISHING POLE.
Use the fishing pole on the painting to find a GREEN CRYSTAL behind it. Use the wall candle to open the door and keep the CANDLE. The door won’t budge though. Use the spider’s acid blood on the door to burn the lock and enter a maze of caves. It’s very dark here so use the candle on yourself to create some light.
There’s a face on the right. Talk to it to discover that to enter here, you need to bring the heart of a minotaur which can only be killed with a speer with a golden tip. So lets get to work. To the right of Honas is some CHALK. You can take it and mark the rooms you’ve been in. But it’s a bit of a misdirection as well since cave contents change after your visit. So I won’t use the chalk.
Enter the cave on the left. In the middle cave you’ll find a minotaur preventing you from going any further. In front of it is a BOWL on the floor. Take it and use the right cave to find a pool of water. Fill the bowl with WATER. Opposite the water is a ROCK on the floor. Take it and use the middle cave to enter an empty one. Use the right cave to return to the minotaur and use the left cave to return to Honas.
Use the middle cave and then enter the cave on the right to find a metal bar. Use the bowl with water to get the METAL BAR from the wall. Use the cave on the right to find some gold on the right hand side next to the entrance. Use the rock to scrape some of the GOLD from the wall (this will only appear after you’ve taken the metal bar).
Take the cave in the middle to return to Honas. Take the left cave, then the one on the right and you should be back at the water again. Use the left cave to find a stream of lava. In your inventory, put the gold in the bowl and use the bowl with the stream of lava to melt the gold. Again in your inventory combine the metal bar with the molten gold. You now have a speer with a golden tip!
Use the cave in the middle, then the cave on the left (to the water), then the cave on the right to return to the minotaur. Approach the human bones to get the minotaur’s attention and when he returns to the back of the cave, use the spear to get the MINOTAUR’S HEART. Leave the cave through the only entrance and use the cave on the left to return to Honas and give him the heart. You’ll enter the cave on the right.
Walk to the right and take the POST-IT NOTE from the shelf. It will show you a spell. Walk to the left and take the OAK LEAF from the window next to the telescope. In your inventory put the oak leaf in the black potion. Walk to the shelf on the right where the vampire bat is hanging and use the black potion on yourself to scare the bat away. You can now take the SPELL BOOK.
In your inventory use the spell book and see three spells: invisibility, swell and door. In your inventory combine the yellow and green potion to create the INVISIBILITY POTION. Again in your inventory, combine the black and red potion to create the SWELL POTION. Open the spell book again and take the ELEPHANT TILE, the BUTTERFLY TILE, the DOG TILE and the LADYBIRD TILE from the book. Go over to the door and put the tiles in the correct cut-outs in the door. The numbers in the spell book (2,4,12,5) refer to the points the animals touch the ground with. So from left to right, top to bottom, place the butterfly tile, the dog tile, the ladybird tile and the elephant tile.
Pull the lever next to the door and it’ll open, taking you to your next challenge. You need to cross the tiles taking the correct letters. Start with the S, then diagonally down to the A. From there down to the L, then diagonally down again to the E. Finally diagonally up to the M.
Walk further to the right where there’s a large stone block with a small gap. Use the gap to see you can’t fit through but if you use the swell potion on yourself, you can make the gap a bit bigger and you’re through. Use the switch in the lift to notice it’s not working. Take the cover from the motor to expose the workings. Use the oil can from your inventory on it to set the gears in motion and the elevator will bring you to the next level.
To get past the rhino guards, use the invisibility potion on yourself. You’ve now reached the golden gate. Look at the gate so see the green hole in the center. Take the crystals from your inventory and put them in the gate. Nothing’s happening. To the right of the gate is a small receptacle and on closer inspection you can see it needs a small amount of blood.
Walk to the right and find a bottle on top of the wall. Use the ladder from your inventory on it to get the BOTTLE from the wall. Walk back to the left and go down the stairs in front of the gate to find some unfortunate souls. Use the empty bottle with the pool of BLOOD to take some and you’ll go upstairs again. Use the bottle with blood on the receptacle to the right of the door to open the gate.
You need to stop the magic cauldron. But you can’t get close enough. In your inventory, add the emerald charm to the broom/rod combination. If your charm doesn’t have enough energy, wait until you’re thrown from the tower, then charge your charm on the iron bar. You’ll use the magic carpet to get back up top again. Use the broom/rod combination with your charm on it on the cauldron and the portal will open, taking the witch with it.
