Agon 2: Adventures in Lapland – Walkthrough (Private Moon Studios/2003)

After you’ve documented your journey to Lapland, you’ve arrived at a small train station.
Since there’s no sled, you need to find your own way. Walk forwards on the platform, then turn left towards the door. Use the door to knock it, then use the door again to enter the office. Turn left, walk forward and turn left again. Take a closer look at the map of Northern Lapland.
Leave the map and turn slightly right, then look at the three images on the wall above the small desk. The drawings on the left mention Kaira. There’s also a handwritten note underneath that says C-F-C-F-C-D-C. Leave the posters and look at the desk. Read the letter (both pages) to learn more about Kaira. Look at the envelope on the left to find the address.
Leave the desk and turn to the right. The station guard is sleeping. You can try to wake him up but to no avail. He might freeze to death. Look at the book shelf above the guard. One of the books contains a Morse decoding table. Make note, you’ll need it later. Turn slight to the left and look at the bookshelf in the corner. If you look at the book on the far right you’ll discover a box of MATCHES behind it. Take them and turn around. Walk towards the stove twice and turn left towards it to have a closer look. Take a LOG from the pile next to it and look at the stove again. Open the door at the bottom and put the log from your inventory in there. Put the newspaper in there as well and use the matches to light the fire.
Turn around and find the telegraph machine next to the window. There’s still a message attached. Look at the message and use the Morse table to decode the message at the top of the screen. It reads: “TO 76 PROFESSOR SAMUEL HUNT FROM ENGLAND IS EXPECTED TO ARRIVE ON WEDNESDAY PLEASE PREPARE A SLEIGH FOR HIM PEKKA”. Use the NEXT key for space, ENTER for done.
Walk forwards towards the door then use the door to go outside. Turn left and walk forwards towards the water tower to see the construction of it. Turn left again then forward twice to the signpost. Look at the signpost for the direction of Borgesiida. Leave the post, turn left and walk forwards, then turn left towards the door. Look at the panel next to the door. That’s a strange lock.
Leave the panel, turn right and walk forwards towards the corner of the building, then turn left and walk forwards towards the bell hanging above the stairs. Turn left and take the ‘KEY‘ from the bell, then walk forwards twice on the platform, turn left towards the door and go inside. Turn 45 degrees left, walk forward, turn 45 degrees right and towards the guard. He has rolled over so when you take a closer look you can take the SMALL KEY from his back pocket.
Turn left and look at the low cabinet under the window that when you look at it, must be holding personal items. Use the small key on the cabinet to unlock it and find the letter from Paavo, the drawings for the lock and a bottle of MEDICINE. Turn around and walk towards the door but at the door turn around to face three plates on the wall. You can move the stool underneath to examine each plate. But the plate on the left you can turn! Turn it all the way counter clockwise (4 times), then clockwise once. Leave the plates, turn around and use the door to go outside.
Turn left, walk forwards, turn left and walk forwards again. Look at the wall on the left to find another wheel. Turn it all the way counter clockwise (6 times) then clockwise four times. Leave the wheel, turn right and walk towards the signpost once turn left and walk forwards towards the steps. Turn left and look at the panel next to the door. There’s a lock visible now! Use the handle you took from the bell from your inventory and use it on the lock and use the door to open it.
Turn slightly left. move forward and then turn right to see another dial. Use it to open the valve. Turn right towards the door and walk towards it, then use the door to go outside and turn right towards the water tower. Climb the ladders of the water tower all the way up. Walk forward over the walkway and look down to find another valve. Use it to open this one as well.
Turn around, walk forward and use the ladders back down to terra firma. Walk towards the building, turn left and walk towards the steps. Turn right, walk forwards then turn right again to the door. Use the door to enter the station. Turn 45 degrees left and walk towards the heater. Turn 45 degrees right to see the heater and look at the top of the heater. On the right there’s a valve as well.
Turn the lever and you’ll see the pressure increase. Once on power, the valve will close automatically again. Turn around towards the door and use the door to go outside. Turn left and walk forwards, turn left and walk forwards twice, then turn left once more and walk forwards to the steps. Then turn left and enter the shed again.
Turn left to see the steam escaping from the pipe. Underneath the pipe on the shelf you can find some LINT. Pick it up and use it on the leaking pipe. Walk to the back of the building where you’ll find a steam organ. It now has full power. Play the sequence you read earlier: C-F-C-F-C-D-C. Leave the organ and turn around. Walk towards the door. Use the door and outside turn right to see Kaira has turned up. To tell the reindeer the direction to go, turn around and use the door again. Turn left and walk towards the organ. Use the organ to play C-F-C.
Turn around and use the door to go outside. Turn right and walk towards Kiara who has now turned around. Use the sled to let Kaira transport you to Borgesiida.
At the crossroads turn left and walk up the hill towards the house. Walk forwards twice and turn around. Look at the wall next to the window to see the text carved into the wood: 264351 WK. Walk forwards left of the building, then turn right slightly and walk forwards twice again. You’re back at your drop off point. Turn around and this time walk forwards to the right of the hill you climbed before. Walk forward three times, following the sleigh tracks and then turn right towards a door with a circle on it. Use the door to enter the inn and talk to the lady sewing. She’s not very talkative, no matter what you ask.
Talk to the bartender and discover he’s not much help either. He doesn’t even give you a cup of water. Turn around and walk to the other end of the inn where there’s a CUP on the table. Take it, turn around again and use the door to go outside. Behind the door, turn around and take an ICICLE from the left.
Enter the inn again and walk to the stove in the corner in the back. In your inventory put the icicle in the cup and put the cup on the stove to melt the ice. Back in your inventory use the medicine with the cup of water. Turn around and walk towards the door. In front of it lies a dog. Use the cup with dissolved medication on the bowl next to the dog and the lady will go outside and signals you to follow her.
Use the door to leave the inn and outside turn right and walk towards the lady. Talk to her and she’ll tell you about Vainio and where to find him. She’ll give you a LETTER to take to him. Use the gate you’re standing next to, to go through and find the sleigh and animal as told.Pick up the OILCAN in front of the sleigh and then use the sleigh to travel to Vainio.
Once the sleigh has reached the bridge and can’t go further, cross the bridge and walk north on the right. Keep walking north until you reach a stone formation on the left. Turn towards the formation and take the WHEEL that’s resting against it. Turn around and walk back to the bridge.
At the bridge, turn around and walk forwards again, this time on the left side. Keep walking forwards until you reach a contraption on top of a hill. Have a close look at the contraption and see that you can enter a code. Enter the number you found earlier on the building: 264351. Use the wheel on the left of the numbers and use the oilcan on it the make it turn smoother. Turn the wheel and see how a compartment opens and shows a piece of paper. Take the scroll out and read another part of the codex.
Leave the machine, turn around and walk down the hill back to the bridge. Turn around again and walk forwards on the right back to the formation of stones. Don’t turn towards the stones but keep walking forwards to the trees. Take the path to the right of the trees. You’ll reach a rocky path and when walking forwards between the rocks you’ll find a jetty. This must be the lake! Turn right in front of it and keep walking forwards until you reach a hut.
Use the door to go inside. Walk towards Vainio and talk to him. But he doesn’t respond. Give him the letter from his girlfriend and you’ll learn about Agon. It’s also known as Tablut and you need to win a game first. You’ll learn the rules of the game and then have to play. When you’ve won, you’ll get a STONE in return.
