[Note: This solution isn’t optimal yet. There’s still the organ to sort out and I need a way to find the remark from captain Nemo that 70% of the Earth consists of water. Since these two are missing, it’s not the happy ending it should be. If anyone finds a solution to these, please let me know.]

Your ship was hit by the Nautilus and now you’re on board the submarine with Captain Nemo. You need to find a way to get back home.

Have a good look around the main room. On the table at the lower right are a diving helmet, a notebook, a compass and a map. You need to write down your voyage. Open the map and you’ll see markers numbered 0 to 9. Place them on the map to plot your route: you’ve already learned that you were hit 300 miles off the coast of Queen Charlotte’s Island so put your ‘0’ marker there.

Leave the map and look at the compass to see the direction you’re going, it’s South-West.. On the other side of the room, left of the big screen, you’ll see a manometer to show the depth, and a speedometer to show the speed. The big screen, when touched, show a nice view of the underwater world or can get you outside once you’ve taken the diving gear. Do not forget the gun standing against the stairs on the lower left.

Do not use the stairs unless the manometer shows zero otherwise you’ll sink the Nautilus and have to start all over again. Talk to Conseil in the red jacket and he’ll suggest that you’ll inspect everything. Talk to Ned on the right and he’ll tell you he wants to go home.  Enter the engine room on the left to learn more about your journey.

17 November

In the engine room you can see a calendar to note the date. Do not touch any instrument unless the captain tells you to. Use the red button left of the porthole to open it and notice the electricity. Make a note in your notebook (Electricity is the world’s future). You can try to talk to Timonier but he won’t understand much English. Use the ladder on the right to return to the main room.

Open the large porthole to look outside and the captain might explain what you can see. Use the door on the right to enter the captain’s hut and find three shelves with books. See what books are available but you can only open three before the captain asks you to leave. Start by reading ‘Ocean’ far left on the top shelf.  Furthermore, don’t read the ‘Journal’ on the top shelf because otherwise the captain will ban you from the library for some time.

You can play the organ but it’s not clear what to play so leave it for now and return to the hall. Look at the compass on the desk to notice the direction hasn’t changed yet so open the map and put a marker ‘1’ below and left of the ‘0’. Then leave the map and enter the engine room on the left again.

At this time the captain might ask you to steer the Nautilus (having read  Oceans and Astronomy). If not, leave the engine room, either visit the library or return straight away until he does. He’ll ask you to dive to 220 meters and course north. To do so you first have to stop the ship by pushing the lever left of the porthole upwards until the ship comes to a halt. Then push the lever below down until you reach 220 meter. Now turn the wheel until the ship faces north.

You have reached the edge of the Crespo Forest and are asked to hunt. Leave the engine room and take the gun standing against the stairs. Take the diving helmet and you’ll find yourself outside with the sharks. Point your gun and shoot the sharks five times before you’re hit three times. If you are hit too many times, you’ll end up recovering and lose valuable time.  After the hunt, you’ll spend two weeks traveling 4000 miles south-south-east.

2 December

You’ll find yourself on deck with Ned, Conseil and the captain. Talk to Conseil on the left and he’ll tell you about an island he saw. Take the telescope from deck and you’ll see it as well. Talk to Ned and he’ll ask to go ashore but only you are allowed for one hour.  Select the island through the lens and go ashore.

Walk north from where you land to reach the upper left frame. From the walk to the right to enter the middle top frame and walk north again to the boat. Use the boat and row all the way to the right, in the next section walk all the way to the left. In the next part there’s a tombstone one the left and when you visit it, you’ll find a chest with initials on it. You’ll report straight back to the captain.

You’ll tell him about the initials, he’ll tell you about La Perouse. Use the top shelf and open the book of La Perouse to learn more about it and ask the captain. After the conversation, make a note in your notebook (The survivors of La Perouse..) and open the book of Cook on the middle shelf. Now you can ask the captain about that. It’s all in a similar area. Again make a note in your notebook (Cook died in 1779…)

Leave the cabin and in the main hall look at the map. Time to put another marker on. You were traveling south-south-east to the Solomon Islands so put marker ‘2’ on the island to the right of Australia.

Leave the map. Check the Speedometer. It’s on ‘0’. Enter the library on the right. Read some books (vegetation, meteo and astronomie) and return to the main room. Check the Speedometer. It’s on ‘0’. Enter the engine room. Not much going on but when you use the periscope, you can see the island. Leave the room and check the Speedometer again. It’s now on 35. The captain will make a remark about the maximum speed so make a note in your notebook (The Nautilus can reach a speed….).

Look at the instruments to see you’ve gone down and traveling south. Open the map. Put marker ‘3’ below the ‘2’. Leave the map and enter the library. Look through some book and return to the main room to open the viewing window. You’ll find a large ship. (If not, visit the engine room and return until it does). Take the gun and the diving helmet and shoot another 5 sharks.

25 December

You’ll be traveling westward 290°.  On the 11th of December you sailed north. Use the periscope and see land. Leave the engine room and check the instruments. Walk to the library and and take the Atlantide book from the bottom shelf. You’ll ask the captain and he’ll give you a location. Enter the information in your notebook (The Atlantis is at… ). Leave the room and open the map again. Put marker ‘4’ above Australia and marker ‘5’ under Egypt. Place marker ‘6’ under Italy, where you should find Atlantis.

Leave the map and the captain will explain how you got in the Mediterranean Sea. Again put a note in your notebook (A tunnel connects…) Enter the engine room and the captain will ask you to navigate again. Go down to 70 meters and turn to 250°. Stop the ship by pushing the lever left of the porthole upwards until the ship comes to a halt. Then push the lever below down until you reach 70 meter. Now turn the wheel until the ship faces south-west.

The captain will ask you to leave. In the main room, open the viewing window to find divers with a wreck. They are taking the treasure from it. Make a note in your notebook (The Chateau Renault…) Walk into the library and take the book of the Red Sea from it. The captain will tell you about it’s name. Make a note in your notebook (The red color….) Leave the room and look out the window again. Take the gun from the stairs and the helmet from the table to start another shark hunt.

After the hunt look at the controls. You’re going south-west now. Open the map and put a marker ‘7’ left of Spain. Visit the engine room and open the porthole to look outside. You’re still at the bottom. Leave the engine room and you’ll hear a strange noise. Open the large viewing window to see some huge tentacles. The captain asks you to surface the Nautilus and meet on deck. Once the viewing window is closed, make a note in your notebook (I’ve seen a squid…).

Enter the engine room on the left and since the Nautilus isn’t moving, use the lower lever and push it upwards until you reach zero depth. Leave the engine room and use the stairs on the left to go outside.  There’s a giant squid in the water and you must use the visor to aim and shoot at it. When you’ve hit the squid twice, you’ll return to the main hall.

Look at the controls to notice you’re going north. Open the map and put marker ‘8’  left of Norway.  Enter the machine room and check everything. You’re too deep for the periscope. Leave the engine room and enter the library again. Read books about meteo and astrology and return to the main hall. Looking at the compass you’ll see that you’re going south-west again.

Open the map and put marker ‘9’ to the shore of Greenland. That means that there’s land! Enter the machine room and look through the periscope. You’re surfacing again. Leave the room and check the manometer. You’re above water! Use the stairs on the left to go outside. When you’re at the right spot, Conseil and Ned will join you. If’ you have any markers wrong (there is some margin), captain Nemo will join you.

Once outside with Ned and Conseil, use the telescope to see the shore. Land is only a few miles away. Select the water between the ship and the telescope to dive in and swim ashore. Let’s hope the audience believes your story.

  1. Nemo makes the comment about 7/10ths of the earth’s surface being covered in water on December 2nd, if you leave the library after visiting the island, climb up to the top deck, back down to the ship, then back to the top deck.

As for the piano; it might be expecting you to play some form of Bach’s Toccata and Fugue, but that seems impossible to pull off. There’s some dialogue in the game’s files where Nemo congratulates you on your musical talent, and says he’ll make a great revelation to you, but there’s no other new text beyond that that I can see.
