A Second Face Walkthrough Warning! This page contains the complete solution or walk-through to this game. Reading this page can spoil the challenge to complete the game by yourself. Please consider this when reading on. The walk-through of this game given here might not be the optimal solution, it’s a solution. Just to prove that the game can be finished. After the speech of your father, you’re left alone in the hall of the palace.

Walk up the stairs and to the right. At the same height of the railing you can take a GOOZON FRUIT. Two door to the right of it is your room. Use the key from your inventory to unlock the door and enter the room. On the table is a PEN. Pick it up and open the closet. Inside you’ll find a BAG. Take it and look at it in your inventory. It contains 15 margin units.

Leave the room and walk to the left to go downstairs again. Walk to the right and go north. On the table you’ll find a GLASS. Pick it up and use the door on the north to reach the kitchen. Talk to the cook and ask for a knife. You can have one if you bring him a cucumber. Walk to the south again and to the left. Then south again to reach the hall.

Leave the building on the south.  You’re on the map now. Walk to the avenue, just below the palace. Walk all the way to the left and climb the stairs and go to the Council of Science. Here you’ll meet Brafok and he’ll tell you a bit more about the assignment and the city. He’ll give you a tour around the Council of Science.

After the tour and the explaination, walk to the north and leave the lab on the right. Climb the stairs and then walk to the south to exit the Council. Walk to the Avenue and find a beggar in the corner. Talk to him and he’ll tell you about his stomach and wants you to talk to the doctor. Use the door on the right of the beggar and walk to the north. Talk to the doctor in the back and ask for stomach. You can have it back if you deliver the plans for a container held by the Council. Tell him bye and walk to the left to leave the room.

Go to the left and go up the stairs. Walk to the Council on the left and talk to the scientist on the left. He sends you two stories down. Walk to the right in the back and go down the stairs to the floor on the left below the administration. Talk to the student on the left and you’ll ask for the BLUEPRINT. Look at the blueprint and see that Brafok signed for them. Try to leave on the right and you’ll be stopped. You can only take them with an application form. Talk to the student on the left again to ask for the papers and he’ll send you back to administration on the floor above the library.

Walk to the right and climb the stairs again back to the administration. Talk to the scientist on the left and he’ll give you an APPLICATION FORM. But Brafok needs to sign it. So walk to the right, descend to the floor on the right and give the form to Brafok. But he’s not going to sign. So descend the stairs again to the library and talk to the student on the left. Ask for the BLUEPRINT again. Use the blueprint on the application form to forge the signature and walk to the right. This time you can leave with the papers. Climb the stairs twice and in the administration walk to the south to leave the Council.

Walk back to the avenue, use the first door on the left and walk to the back to see the doctor. Give him the plans and you’ll get the STOMACH. Leave the room on the left and walk back to the left to meet the beggar again. Give him his stomach back and he’ll thank you with a STRANGE STONE. Also listen to what he told you about the undertown. Not unprepared and not alone.

Walk down the stairs to the market and on the corner is a slave stand. Look at how a slave is sold. Then hear what is said about the next slave. He has knowledge of the undertown. Walk all the way to the left and next to the door to the shipyard you can see a BUCKET. Take it and walk back to the market on the south.

Walk up the stairs again and use the door on the right to the inn. At the table in the middle is a drunk. Walk to him and take the PERMIT from his pocket. Leave the inn on the left and walk to the left to climb the stairs again. Opposite of the Council is the Margin Factory. Go there.

As soon as you enter, you’ll be stopped. You need a permit to enter the factory. Good thing you took it from the drunk. Walk all the way to the right, past the tanks and to the south where you can find a wheel and a tap on the tank. Use the bucket on the tap and use the wheel to open the tank and fill the bucket with MARGIN. Pick up the bucket again and walk to the left to leave the factory. Walk to the right to the avenue and go down the stairs to the slave stand. Give the bucket with margin to the trader and you can have the SLAVE.

The slave will take you to the undertown. Walk into the alley behind the poor man on the left and you’ll be robbed and thrown into jail. On the left is a skeleton. Take the RIB from the skeleton and use it on the opening in the door. Take the MARGIN CLEANER and you’ll meet Groth again. She’ll explain the stone you were carrying and you’re free to go.

Outside take the LANTERN CAGE from the wall and walk to the south. Here, a dark man will speak to you. He wants to speak to you again in the Goozon Park. Walk to the right  to leave the Undertown and on the map goto Goozon Park. Walk to the left untill you meet the dark man again.

Talk to the man and he wants a symbol from you showing you’re ready for enlightment. You can ask him questions if you like, otherwise say bye. Give him the strange stone and tell him your story behind it. He’ll explain the stone and takes you to a dark manor. Listen carefully how he gains access: Morok and Light.

Inside you’ll talk to Morok and she’ll tell you about the Guild Of Light and your second face. She’ll give you a RECIPE for a drink that will make you see your second face. Once outside look at the ingredients to see what you need. Walk to the south and on the map go to the market. The first stall you see sells vegetables. Talk to Orga and ask Kra. You’ll pay her and get the KRA HERB. Ask her for a cucumber and you’ll buy the CUCUMBER.

Walk to the left and go up the stairs. Walk to the inn on the right, talk to the barman and ask for wine. He’ll give you a bottle of WINE. Leave on the left, walk to the left over the avenue and go down the stairs to the market. Walk to the lft to the fish stall. Talk to Krak and ask for fish. He’ll sell you the FISH. Walk to the right and go up the stairs. Walk to the right on the avenue and on the map select the Palace.

Inside, walk to the right, north and through the door on the north to return to the kitchen. Give the cucumber to the cook and you’ll get the KNIFE. Go south, left and south again to go to the map and walk to the Temple of Fertility on the right. Use the glass on the water left or right of the guards to get some fresh WATER. In your inventory use the knife on the fish to clean it. Combine the fish with the herbs and your mixture is almost done. Use the glass of water with the mixture and your SUBSTANCE is ready. Walk to the right and on the map go to the Dark Manor. On the avenue go down the stairs and walk to the right and go up the stairs. On the map select the Darm Manor again.

Use the door in the back to knock and when asked who you’re looking for answer Morok. When they ask you what you want, tell them light and you can access. Inside you’ll have a conversation with Morok again and see your second face. After your vision she’ll tell you about the Maze of Fertility give you a STATUE. You need two more to go through the maze.

Walk to the south and visit the market again. The stall left of the stairs will buy and sell several things. One of them are statues. Talk to Trof and ask for a statue. He’ll give you a SOUVENIR. Go up the stairs and walk through the avenue to the Council of Science. Enter the Council and walk to the right in the back. Descend one floor to the lab and look at the statue of Brafok. When he turns his back to the statue and faces the chemicals, use the souvenir to get the real STATUE. After you’ve completed the switch, walk to the left and climb the stairs to administration and leave the Council on the south.

Walk to the Avenue and go to the Inn again. Groth is standing against the bar. Talk to her and mention the festival. She wants to go but you can only go if you have a partner and she doesn’t have one. Neither do you. Tell her sex and she’s ready to follow you. But she wants to be convinced first. Tell her bye and show her the statue Morok gave you. She’s convinced now. On the table on the left is a GLASS. Take it.

Leave the Inn on the left and walk to the right. You can now enter the temple. Inside you’ll tell Groth the truth and she’ll leave. Pick up the LEATHER CLOTHES Groth dropped. Walk inside and you’ll have a conversation with the bathing men. They’ll offer you some Margin, but you’re not interested at first. Talk to the Upper Class men again and tell them margin. They’re surprised you’re interested now but will give it to you. You can now pick up the bowl of MARGIN.

Walk to the north of the room and take the MACE standing against the wall. Leave the room on the left and walk to the left up the stairs. Against the wall next to the musicians is a MALLET. Pick it up and walk down the stairs again.You can’t leave the temple because you’ve lost your ‘date’ so you can’t get in again. Maybe there’s another entrance.

Go further down the stairs and face a dirty wall. In the niche in the wall left of it is the third STATUE. Take it. Look at the wall on the north. There’s a gap and it looks decayes. Use the mace on the wall twice to create a larger crack and use the mallet on the crack to make a larger hole. Use the hole to go outside. Walk to the right twice to go to the map and walk through the Avenue to the left. Climb the stairs and go to the Council of Science.

Walk to the right in the back and descend all the stairs to the meeting room at the ground level. Walk to the south and see a cleaning woman. Talk to her and ask for her mop. She can’t give it because she needs to clean. Tell her bye and use the margin you took in the temple on the margin cleaner to charge it. Give the margin cleaner to the lady and you’ll get her MOP.

Walk to the north and climb the stairs all the way to the top. On the left side walk to the south to leave the Council. On the map select the Market. At the avenue walk down the stairs to visit the market and walk to the south across the slave vendor. You’re in the Goozon Park now. On the tree is a Goozon fruit on the right that’s a bit brighter than the rest. Use the mop to knock it out of the tree and pick up the GOOZON. Walk to the right in the back to return to the market and then all the way to the right to visit the fruit stall again. Ask Orga for goozon and she’ll give you the GOOZON.

Go left and up the stairs. In the Avenue walk to the right and on the map select the Palace. Inside walk to the right and go to the north. In the conference room use the door on the north again to visit the kitchen. Open the lid of the juice extractor and use a goozon on the lid to put it. Use the lid again to close it and take the glass from your inventory. Use the glass on the spigot of the juice extracter and then use the lever to get the goozon juice. Take the glass of JUICE and use the glass on the lamp in your inventory. Repeat the juice extraction poroces twice more so eventually the lantern is filled three times.

Leave the kitchen on the south and walk to the left, south and left again to the reception. Then south to leave the palace. On the map cross to the Temple of Fertility. Use your empty glass on the water again to take fresh WATER. Walk to the right to return to the map and then goto the Margin Factory. An the Avenue walk all the way to the left and climb the stairs. Back on the map select the Margin Factory. Inside, walk all the way to the right and behind the tanks you’ll find an OBJECT. Pick it up. Walk to the left and leave the factory. On the map goto the market.

When you’ve reached the Avenue, walk down the stairs and go to the souvenir stall on the right. Give Trof the blue cup and receive 5 MARGIN UNITS. Walk all the way  to the left and talk to the man with the fish, Krak. Tell him fish to buy another FISH. Walk all the way to the right and at the vegetable stand talk to Orga. Tell her herb to buy another KRA HERB.

Create another mixture: use the knife on the fish, use the fish with the herb and use the water with the mixture. Walk to the left and enter the tent of the fortune teller. Use the margin units from your inventory on the table to let the man answer your questions. You can ask him anything, as long as it’s a difficult question. Ask him about me, king, brother, margin or something. Before he answers, he drinks his illuminating drink. And that’s your chance. As soon as he puts down his cup and starts thinking, use your mixture and pour it in his goblet.

Ask him another question and he’ll drink again but passes out soon after. Use Ugal to find 32 MARGIN UNITS on him. Leave the tent and walk all the way to the left to the fish stall. Talk to Krak about the rod and you can buy the FISHING ROD from him. Walk to the right, climb the stairs and walk further to the right. On the map select the Temple of Fertility.

You’re not alowed to enter through the main entrance. Use the mop on the water to make it wet and walk further to the left. Use the hole in the wall to walk back into the temple. Use the wet mop on the dirt wall on the right to find the relief behind it. It looks like a big door but something is missing. Walk up the stairs twice to go to the balcony with the musicians. Use your knife on Grot’s leather clothes to cut a PIECE OF LEATHER. Use the piece of leather with the mug of margin to the make the leather sticky. Use the sticky leather with the fishing rod to use it as ‘bait’.

Use the fishing rod on the EYE OF GELTZ in the large statue. Walk to the south and go further down the stairs to the relief in the wall. Use the Eye of Geltz on the relief and the wall will open. Use the lantern on the dark hallway that’s revealed to enter the Maze of Fertility.

Solution to the Maze of Fertility:

You have three statues, each with a different shape of base. When you look at a pedestal you can tell the statue you need to use. Each pedestal has effect on the adjacent ones  and only on the floor of the colour the represent. So:

Number all pedestals from left to right, top to bottom. The top floor has 16 pedestals, the floor below 9 and the bottom floor 4. The statues are round (R), square (S) or triangular (T). The solution:

Floor 1: 1S, 2S, 3T, 4S, 7S, 8(down)
Floor 2: 1T, 3S, 1T, 2(up)
Floor 1: 12R, 8(down)
Floor 2: 8 (down)
Floor 3: 2T, 3(up)
Floor 2: 9T, 7S, 9T, 2(up)
Floor 1: 16S, 15R, 8(down)
Floor 2: 8(down)
Floor 3: 4(down)

Walk to the right to see the Light Statue. In front of it is an object in the pedestal. Take the OBJECT and walk to the left to bring it back to Morok. But then there’s someone you didn’t expect….

    I also found a cup to sell to Trof in the shipyard (instead of going to Margin Factory).

    That’s right, there are more cups lying around when you run out of Margin Units.

    Another tip, when you (accidently) fill your glass with water after the vision and before filling the lamp:

    Brew the mixture again. Then you a have a glass full of mixture. Now, by “magic” you can find another empty glass in Rovinklus’ Inn. (Thanks, Partydoc)

    Well, unless the pedestals are placed random (which I don’t think because I’ve played the maze several times now), on Floor 1, pedestal 2 is square based. On the bottom floor, floor 3, pedestal 2 is triangular. Are you sure that you’re counting from top to bottom, left to right? Pedestal 2 is the first one on the second row…

    Counting that way my 3 is S too. My 16 pedestals in 1st floor are:

    where ! is way down.

    Yep, you’re right. But I said from top to bottom, I didn’t say rotate the image.
    So in my case it’s:

    1S
    2S 3T
    4S 5S 6S
    7S 8E 9S 10S
    11R 12R 13T
    14T 15R
    16S

    Then 2 is square, just like in your solution.

    Your counting is way off with the maze. If I count left to right and top to bottom as you suggest, then 8(down) is actually 10(down). The only way 8 can be down, is if you counted the entire top row, and then counted the next row down, but only counted the first 2, and forgot to count the other 2 in that row, and then counted down again. Okay, Q is supposed to be 8(down), the C is the first room that is already open when you first start, the O means you forgot to count those 2 rooms. That is the only way Q could be 8(down) otherwise it would be 10(down) Example below:

    It is not way off! U must count it whilst the pedestals looks like it’s in a diagonal position and from left to right.
