Night And Day – Walkthrough (HandsFree/2011)

Night And Day Walkthrough Warning! This page contains the complete solution or walk-through to this game. Reading this page can spoil the challenge to complete the game by yourself. Please consider this when reading on. The walk-through of this game given here might not be the optimal solution, it’s a solution. Just to prove that the game can be finished. Thursday – 10:00 am

Noticing that Davy isn’t home, use the blue door of your own basement. Use the container on the left to get your MONEY out and take the AWL from the board in the back. Climb the stairs to go outside again. Walk all the way to the left into the alley and talk to the bum. He’ll tell you about Reaper and his own plans. Apparently there’s more about it in today’s paper. Look in the box to get some BREADCRUMBS from it.

Leave the alley on the right and walk to the general store. Talk to Phil and ask him to change the money into coins. You have to buy something so buy some food. You’ll get your COINS and a TOMATO. Leave the shop and use the coins on the newspaper vending machine to get a NEWSPAPER out. Look at the newspaper in your inventory to read about the vacancy.

Walk left and enter the office block. Use the door in the middle to the Realizers office and talk to Mr. Boyle. Ask him about the advertisement and who paid for it. He’ll search the records and let you know later. Leave the office and use the door on the left to take the stairs to the second floor.

Walk through the open door of the empty office and pick up the ROPE from the floor. Underneath the rope you can find a WALLET. Take this as well. In your inventory look at the wallet and find a KEY inside. leave the room and use the door on the left to take the stairs to the ground floor. Walk south to go outside and use the key on the red door on the right where Davy lives.

So now you know where the key goes, you know who was in the empty building. Look under the bed, under the mattress, the pillow, behind the desk, in the drawer, under the carpet, at the lamp and behind the corner of the poster. No matter which order, the NOTE will be at the last place you’ll look.

Look at the note in your inventory to see it’s a spell. Read the spell and make sure you look at every line to know what you need to do to make a soul catcher. When you know that, you know that you need to make a reverse spell. You need a spell book for that. Leave the house and walk to the left and north into the street. On the map select Book Nook.

Talk to Albert behind the counter and ask him for the book. It seems Mika beat you to it. Ask him about Doris and Esmarilde. Seems you need to go to Scid’s. Leave the store to go back to the main street in Reality.

Thursday – 2:00 pm

Walk to the left and enter Scid’s. Talk to Esmarilde and ask her all about the reverse spell, the book and magic. Seems that it’s all about plants. Leave Scid’s and walk north into the street to see the map again. Return to Book Nook. Talk to Albert again and ask him for a book about flora and a dictionary. He has them but you need to find them yourself. Look at the bookshelf and find the books that are unique. There are only 2: case 1, shelf 1, position 9 (green book) and case 2, shelf 2, position 6 (wide brown book with red stripes).

Talk to Albert and tell him these numbers. The first book is the book about plants. It will teach you more about the ingredients of the spell. The second book is the dictionary. After you’ve taken it from the shelf and found the explanation for volvogram, you’ll look at the spell in your inventory again. Look at every line in the spell again to realise what you might need for the warts.

Leave the store and return to the streets of Reality. Walk to the left and enter Scid’s. Talk to George behind the bar and ask for a straw. You can get one if you order a lemonade and you can get a lemonade if you’re under 12. Ask him about the ID and he’ll tell you about the Yummy Yaks at the general store. Leave the bar and walk to the general store on the right. Go inside and talk to Phil behind the counter.

Aks for a YUMMY YAK and he’ll give you the last one. Take it from your inventory and use it on yourself to find out what’s inside. The yak is too hard to eat it. Take the empty  JAR from the counter and leave the store. Walk to the right and enter your basement next to the newspaper vending machine. Put the yak on the floor and take the SLEDGE HAMMER from the wall. Use the hammer on the yak and take the pieces from the floor to find the YAK HORN inside. Use the horn on yourself to find the taste. Put the sledge hammer back on the wall.

Look at the color wheel  on the back wall and notice the colors. Since it was a dark blue toad… you need orange. Leave the basement and walk back to Scid’s on the left. Go inside and talk to George about the straw again. You can proof your age so you can order a lemonade with an ORANGE STRAW. Leave Scid’s and walk to the far right.

Enter the restaurant and talk to Lucca. Ask for Davy and he’ll tell you about the fight. Ask about the fight and you’ll find out what it was about. Take the SUGAR CUBES from the bowl on the far right. In your inventory put the sugar cubes in the jar. You realize that you can use the cubes for the berries as well..  Leave the restaurant again and go right to find the church.

Walk to the left of the church to reach the cemetery. You’ll find Max standing next to the wall. Talk to Max and he’ll tell you about the ants. After he as left, look at the wall, the ants are on the other side. You realize you could use them as opposite for the elephant. But how to get tot the ants?

Walk to the left to return to the front of the church. Walk left into the streets of Reality and all the way left into the alley. Use the jar on the tap to take some WATER. Oh well.. you can always return to Lucca for more sugar.

Walk to the right to leave the alley and walk all the way to the right until you reach the church. Walk to the back on the left side of the church. In your inventory put the rope into the jar with sugar water. Use the sugar coated rope on the wall.  Use the awl on the jar to make some holes in the lid and put the breadcrumbs in the jar. Use the jar on the ground next to the wall and wait for the ANT to go in.

Walk left to leave the graveyard and in front of the church left again into the streets of Reality. Enter Lucca’s again and take another SUGAR CUBE from the bowl. There’s only one left. Use the cutlery from the table to take the KNIFE and in your inventory use the knife on the sugar cubes to cut them in three. Put the knife back on the table.

In your inventory put the cubes and the straw into the jar. Now all you need is a photograph.

Thursday – 6:30 pm

Time to find out who placed the ad. Enter the office building and use the door to the Realizer. It’s locked. Leave the building south and walk all the way to the left to enter Scid’s. Talk to Larry and find out he’s on a break. You need his key though. Take the key from your inventory and show it to Larry. He’s not convinced that he needs to let his keys treat the same way so show him the newspaper and he’ll give you his KEY.

Under the bottle on the table is a NOTE. Pick it up and look at it in your inventory. It doesn’t really make sense. Look at the announcement on the wall on the left. It’s an invitation. Talk to George to learn who placed the invitation there. Leave the bar and walk to the office block on the right. Go inside and use the key from Larry on the Realizer’s door.

Use the drawers on the left. The top one will tell you who Death worked for. The second drawer is locked with a numeric lock. The third drawer is empty and the bottom drawer has Mika’s spell book in it. You take the PAGE that shows only a part of the reverse spell.

Leave the office and walk south to leave the building walk to the right and visit the church. Take the RAKE standing against the back wall and enter the church. Use the rake on the SWORD to get the sword from the wall. You’ll automatically put the rake back against the wall. Walk to the left to return to the street of Reality and walk to the left to enter Scid’s again. Give the key back to Larry. Leave Scid’s again and the day will end.

Friday – 10:00 am

After Death has you under attack, tell him that you have a yak horn. The kid’s sweet saves your life. Enter the general store and talk to Phil about the mask. You need to show him today’s newspaper. Leave the store and walk all the way to the left into the alley. Talk to the bum and ask about the newspaper. He gave it away.

Leave the alley on the right and walk to Chez Chef on the far right. Talk to Lucca and ask for the newspaper. Guido is making the puzzle and needs to find a final answer. You can help him. Leave the restaurant and walk all the way to the left into the alley and talk to the Bum again. Ask him about Shakespeare and start the ‘knock knock’ jokes. Keep asking him until you find the right answer and you’ll automatically return to the restaurant where Guido can finish his puzzle.You get the NEWSPAPER.

Leave the restaurant and return to the general store. Give the newspaper to Phil and he’ll give you the MASK. Leave the store and walk north left of the post office. On the map select the City Hall. When you have to fill in who paid the seminar of Death answer that it was sponsored by the Dayist Church.

Look at the notes on the desk. The one on the left say Night and match your Day note. But you can’t take it because the mayor is looking at it with his only good eye. Look at the papers on the right. Talk to the mayor and ask him about the report. The more you ask the longer his answers will become so keep asking him until you think you have enough time to take the Night NOTE from his desk.

Look at the note in your inventory. It has a strange shape on it and the same size as the Day note. In your inventory combine the day- and night note. Now that they’re together you should find a way to see them together. A strong light source would be good.

Leave the City Hall and return to the town center. Walk to the office building on the right and go inside. Use the door on the left to climb the stairs to the second floor and enter the empty office. Use the window to directly look at the sun. Use the combined note on the sun to read the note. Now you know the password for the meeting.

Leave the note and the sun and walk south to leave the room. Use the door on the left to take the stairs to the ground floor and walk south to leave the building. Outside walk all the way to the left and enter the alley. Talk to the bum and ask him about death. Since he’s not going to be it anymore, ask him about the clothes. After several bizarre answers, use the box to take out the black ROBE. Leave the alley on the right.

Friday – 2:00 pm

Enter Scid’s and find Max here. You need to talk to him but the meeting is about to start. Use the door on the left and you’ll be asked to provide the security code. Tell the man on the other side that it’s Umbrella. Once inside you’ll find a lot of applicants. Listen to Death until point three on the agenda is reached and then talk to Death. Ask him about the seminar and he’ll feel uncomfortable. Everyone now wants to know who he is and chase him outside.

Take the BUSINESS CARD from the floor and look at it in your inventory. On the back there’s something written. Now you need to talk to Max. Leave the room and walk south to leave the bar. Walk to the right and enter the office building. There’s Davy and he’ll tell you the story behind everything.

Max wants you to search the square for Larry.  Walk south to leave the building. You can look around the square,  Larry’s not there. Walk to the left and enter Scid’s. Use the door on the left to enter the back room and there you’ll find Larry. Talk to him and he’ll eventually give you his KEY. Walk to the right to leave the room, then walk to the south to leave the bar.

Walk to the right and enter the office block. Use the key Larry gave you to open the door of the Realizer. You need to get into that second drawer. But it has a number lock on it. Look at Larry’s business card: drawers, spells, blinds. Count the drawers (4) and count the blinds (6). Open the bottom drawer and read the title of the book (99). Combine the numbers in the correct order (4996) and you can unlock the second drawer. Inside you’ll find a NEGATIVE picture of Mika. Time to save Mika.

Leave the office and see how Mika’s taken by multiple Deaths. You need to follow them to the church. Leave the building on the south and walk all the way to the right until you reach the church. Use the front door to go inside. Watch what happens and once Elaine leave for another sword, try to find Davy. Talk to every Death until you get the right answer.

Talk to Davy about the negative and daylight. You know how you can make night… Put the tomato in the jar and add the negative of Mika as well. Put the jar on Mika.  Now you need the reverse spell. Talk to Davy again and he’ll tell you the missing parts from the spell.

Look at the original spell:
dydrek spawyn ekdrawyn sekudawis

remove every fourth letter:
dydek sawy ekdawy sekdaws

remove all D’s:
yek sawy ekawy sekaws

remove all S’s
yek awy ekawy ekaw

make sure you have three words:
yekaw yekaw yekaw
