Fortress of Wonders – Walkthrough (Skiovatis/2004)

Fortress of Wonders Walkthrough Warning! This page contains the complete solution or walk-through to this game. Reading this page can spoil the challenge to complete the game by yourself. Please consider this when reading on. The walk-through of this game given here might not be the optimal solution, it’s a solution. Just to prove that the game can be finished. After the conversation with the dragon, you are requested to go to the tower. Walk north along the path to the old forest road to see the map. You’ll automatically walk to the castle and speak to Bodan. Talk to him and learn about the disappearance of Arthur.

After the conversation use the door on the left to leave the room and you’ll see a map. Go to the royal bedroom on the right and talk to the guard in front of the door. Ask about the King and learn about the shadows. Ask about the Queen and where to find her.

Leave the bedroom and on the map go to the balcony below the great halls. Talk to Queen Jessica and tell her you want to search the bedroom. She’ll give you the bedroom KEY. Use the door on the right to leave the balcony and return to the map. On the map select the royal bedroom again.

Use the bedroom key on the royal door and once inside lift the pillow on the left to discover a doll underneath. Pick up the DOLL and look at the floor. There’s been a struggle here. Walk to the right to return to the corridor.

Go left to see the map and travel to the kitchen on the upper left. Talk to the cook and ask about the meat. You can have it if you bring a LETTER to Duke Flint in the hall. Use the door on the left to return to the map. Select the great hall in the center of the map.

Talk to Duke second from the left. Give him the letter. Leave the hall again and return to the kitchen in the upper left. Talk to the cook to tell him you’ve delivered the letter and now you can pick up the MEAT. Leave the kitchen and go to the cellar in the corner of the kitchen. Talk to the ogre and pick up the empty FLASK. Leave the cellar and select the watchtower on the map. Talk to the guard and distract him. Once he’s looking the other way, you can pick up the HORN.

Leave the tower and visit the armoury. Grab the KNIFE from the wooden doll and talk to the fighter on the left. She’ll tell you what she knows and will give you a piece of CLOTH. After the conversation, leave again. Go into the garden and visit the island on the left of the waterfall. Look at the island (right click) to notice the strange plants growing here. Pick up the plant to discover it’s GARLIC. Walk to the right and look at the lamp next to the bard. There’s a FEATHER stuck to it. Take it and then walk all the way to the right to follow the path back to the map.

On the map go to the forest and once you see the map, select Ariana’s hut. In front of your house you can find an AXE in a log. Take it and walk left back to the map to travel further into the forest, left of your house. Talk to the faerie. Use your axe on the branch on the great tree on the right, then pick up the ripped BRANCH. Leave the forest by following the path north and visit the ruins in the center of the map.

Use your axe on the Dark Knight to defeat him and then use the hole to find a TREASURE CHEST. When you look at the chest in your inventory, you can see that there are over a 1000 pieces of gold in there. Leave the ruins on the left and travel to Dragons land on the left. Talk to Centauress to learn about the pet wasp.

Leave on the left and travel to Orc Village on the lower left. Talk to the Orc chieftain on the far left and learn about the stolen drums. Give him the horn as replacement and he’ll give you a vial of POISON in return. Leave the village and on the map go to the fortress on the upper right. Once inside, go north to the corridor and on the map go to the stables on the lower left.

Talk to the hunter and ask about the king. Then ask about the wasp and request to set it free. He wants a large sum of money for it so… give him the treasure chest and he’ll let the wasp go. Use the top of the cage to set the wasp free. Walk to the yard on the left and on the map select the forest on the lower center of the map. Return to Dragon Lands and tell Centauress that her pet has returned. She’ll give you an AMULET in return so you can talk to animals.

Walk to the left to leave Dragon Lands and on the map select the fortress. Walk north into the corridor and on the map go back to the stables. Talk to the black chicken and discover that it’s… the King!! You’ll have to help him.

Walk to the left to leave the stables and go to Bodan’s study on the upper right of the map. You’ll talk to Bodan and he’ll give you a LIST with four ingredients you need to find to make a counter spell. Look at the list in your inventory to see what you need to find. Leave the study through the door on the left and go to the library. Talk to the scholar to learn more about the locations of the ingredients.

Leave the library and visit the great hall. Talk to the ranger. He can tell you more about the monsters and dragons you’ll need to find. Walk to the right to leave the fortress and  go to the forest in the lower middle to visit the faerie. Ask about the mandrake root and the unicorn. You can have the mandrake root if you kill the Wyvern Dragon. Follow the forest path the map and go to Dragon Lands. Walk north into the cave and find the Wyvern Dragon. In your inventory put the vial with poison on the piece of meat and give the meat to the dragon: one dragon down. Use your axe on the dragon to cut his TONGUE.

Leave the cave on the right and then left again to see the map. Travel back to the faerie in the forest at the south and give the tongue to receive the MANDRAKE ROOT. Go left back to the map and then to the graveyard on the right.Take the SHOVEL from the grave and talk to the vampire. He’ll tell you about the crypt but you can’t enter. Give the garlic to the vampire and he’ll disappear. Enter the crypt and find a coffin. Open it and you’ll see Dracula inside. In your inventory use the knife on the branch to cut it into a stake. Use the stake on the coffin to kill Dracula and then fill the empty bottle in your inventory with DRACULA BLOOD. Walk north to leave the crypt.

Walk to the right to return to the map, then into the mountains. You’ll find the Ice Dragon here but alas, dead and when you look closer you’ll see it’s without eyes. Leave the mountains on the right and enter the fortress. Talk to the ranger and tell him about the dragon. He’ll refer you to the Guard Master. Walk north into the corridor and on the map select the Armoury. Talk to the Guard Master and question him about the eye. You can have his trophy if you bring him a sword. Now you need to find a scroll.

Leave the Armoury and go to the library. Talk to the lizard and he’ll send you to the scholar. Talk to him and he’ll tell you about the scroll. You can find it in the library. Talk to the lizard again and he’ll tell you to search the shelves. Look at the shelves to find the SCROLL.

Leave the library and walk south into the forest on the map. Go to your own house and go inside. Talk to Gimli and he’ll tell you about the unicorn bone. Leave the house and left to the map. Walk north to Skull Coast. In front of the big rock now X marks the spot so use your shovel on the x and get the UNICORN BONE.

Standing near the shore, look at the scroll in your inventory to cite the spell and you’ll meet the ancient one. To take the sword you need to answer a riddle. No matter what you answer (it should be Water), you’ll get the SWORD anyway. Walk left back to the map and enter the fortress.

Walk north into the corridors and go the Armoury on the left. Give the sword to the Guard Master and he’ll give you the EYE. Leave the room and on the map go to Bodan’s study on the upper right. He’ll prepare you a POTION that will turn the king back to his normal. Leave the study and go to the stables. Give the potion to the black chicken and he’ll become King.

The King will give you a ROYAL ORDER to find the one who did this. Leave the stables and go to the cellar on the upper left. Give the order to the Ogre and he’ll tell you about the cook. But first you need to talk to the other dwarves. Walk up the stairs on the left and on the map select the Armoury. Talk to the dwarf and he’ll send you to the Duke. Leave the armoury and go to the great hall. Talk to the Duke and if he won’t let you talk to the cook, tell him about the secret you’ve heard from the dwarf. Now you can talk to the cook on the Duke’s behalf.

Leave the hall north and go to the kitchen on the upper left. Talk to the cook and learn about his attacker. Leave the kitchen and go to Bodan’s study. Tell him what you know and he wants you to get the main guy. He’ll also tells you about the executioner and his fear for curses. Show the doll to Bodan and he’ll tell you about its powers. Leave the study and go to the dungeons on the far left. Use the doll on the executioner and he’ll turn into a snake. He’ll tell you everything if you can turn him back again.

Talk to the snake and he’ll insist he was the brains behind the operation. After the conversation use the Dungeon door on the right and talk to the Wraith. He’ll tell you about his death and the curse. Ask him about the executioner and the same name pops up. He’ll also tell you about the Temple of Darkness. But only the executioner knows the access.

Go up the stairs on the left and talk to the snake again. Ask about the Temple of Darkness and eventually he’ll tell you about the lever under the torture bed. Use the bed to pick up the LEVER. Go through the Dungeon door again and use the lever on the hole below the bones to open up a secret passage. Don’t enter yet, you don’t have enough power to defeat Asgarath.

Walk up the stairs on the left twice and go to Bodan’s study. He’ll give you a book with the correct spells to use. Pick up the BOOK from the table and leave the study and return to the Dungeon. Use the door on the right and enter the secret passage. Face Asgarath and defeat him to save the kingdom.
